Prices remain high despite ample supply of vegetables

Prices of all vegetables remained high in Sunday Bazaars despite ample supply of commodities in the makeshift markets on Sunday.
Improved supply of vegetables did not reduce the rates of both summer and winter seasons’ vegetables available in the market. Vendors kept overcharging the consumers even in the presence of the town and price control committee officials.
The price of potatoes soft skin was reduced by Rs 2 per kg fixed at Rs 35 to 40 per kg, sugar free fixed at Rs 25 to 29 per kg, and stored at Rs 15 to 18 per kg, while stored were sold at Rs 40 per kg. Onion price increased by Re one per kg, fixed at Rs 20 to 23 per kg, mixed quality sold at Rs 23 per kg. The price of tomato gained by Rs 2 per kg, fixed at Rs 38 to 42 per kg. The price of garlic local was reduced by Rs 10 per kg, fixed at Rs 220 to 230 per kg, garlic China reduced by Rs 50 per kg, fixed at Rs 248 to 260 per kg, both sold at Rs 240 to 280 per kg. The price of ginger Chinese was reduced by Rs 5 per kg, fixed at Rs 85 to 90 per kg, sold at Rs 100 per kg.
The price of brinjal declined by Rs 5 per kg, fixed at Rs 13 to 15 per kg, sold up to Rs 20 per kg. The price of cucumber was fixed at Rs 55 to 60 per kg, sold at Rs 60 to 80 per kg. Bitter gourd gained by Rs 5 per kg, fixed at Rs 60 to 65 per kg, sold at Rs 70 per kg. Spinach price was reduced by Rs 2 per kg, fixed at Rs 18 to 22 per kg, sold at Rs 25 per kg.
Lemon local was fixed Rs 125 to 135 per kg, lemon Chinese was fixed at Rs 90 to 100 per kg, Chinese B-grade was sold at Rs 120 per kg, while local lemon was not available. Zucchini local was reduced by Rs 5 per kg, fixed at Rs 50 to 55 per kg, sold at Rs 60 per kg. The price of pumpkin was stable at Rs 17 to 20 per kg, sold up to Rs 50 per kg.
Luffa price was also gained by Rs 10 per kg, fixed at Rs 35 to 40 per kg, not sold there.
Ladyfinger was reduced by Rs 5 per kg, fixed at Rs 40 to 45 per kg, sold at Rs 50 per kg. Arum was stable at Rs 40 to 45 per kg, not sold there. Green chilli local price gained by Rs 10 per kg, fixed at Rs 65 to 75 per kg, sold at Rs 80 per kg. Capsicum was reduced by Rs 20 per kg, fixed at Rs 70 to 80 per kg, sold at Rs 100 per kg. Coriander was stable Rs 140 per kg, sold at Rs 400 per kg.
Carrot local was fixed at Rs 50 to 55 per kg, Chinese at Rs 60 to 65 per kg, both sold at Rs 70 per kg. Radish was fixed at Rs 10 to 13 per kg, sold at Rs 40 per kg. Methi was fixed at Rs 90 to 100 per kg, turnip at Rs 60 per kg, sold at Rs 80 per kg, and green beans at Rs 40 per kg, sold at Rs 200 per kg. Pea was fixed at Rs 125 to 135 per kg, sold at Rs 140 per kg. The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs 35 to 90 per kg, sold at Rs 80 to 100
per kg. The price of banana A-quality was stable at Rs 50 per dozen, B-quality at Rs 35 to 40 per dozen, sold at Rs 50 per dozen while A-quality was not sold there and outside sold at Rs 80 per dozen.
Guava price was fixed at Rs 50 to 60 per kg, sold at Rs 100 to 120 per kg.
The price of different variety of mangoes was fixed at Rs 45 to 130 per kg, sold at Rs 120 to 140 per kg. Grapes sundarkhani was fixed at Rs 130 to 180 per kg, sold at Rs up to 200 per kg, grapes black was at Rs 145 to 156 per kg, not sold there, grapes tofi was fixed at Rs 130 to 140 per kg, sold at Rs 160 per kg.
Peer was fixed at Rs 65 to 70 per kg, not sold there.
Sweet potato was fixed at Rs 20 to 22 per kg, missing in makeshift markets.
Pomegranate local was fixed at Rs 115 to 120 per kg, Kandahari at Rs 110 to 140 per kg, B-grade sold at Rs 140 per kg.
Papaya was fixed at Rs 75 to 80 per kg, sold at Rs 100 per kg.
Persimmon was fixed at Rs 45 to 50 per kg, lower quality was sold at Rs 50 to 60 per kg.
Grape fruit was fixed at Rs 12 per piece, lower quality was sold there.
