India’s atrocities in the Kashmir valley have added fuel to fire in the already unstable relations of India and Pakistan. Pakistan has alerted the world community to India’s inhuman behaviour. On the other hand, India appears to be in a tit-for-tat action – discussing Pakistan’s human rights violations in Balochistan.
Had Pakistan long ago brought about economic prosperity, perhaps India would not have thought to bring up the Balochistan issue. Long-standing lawlessness, injustice, exploitation of natural resources have bred militancy in Balochistan. There is much that can happen still. The CPEC has enormous potential to turn Balochistan into a lucrative asset, only if it is used by safe hands. The government must ensure solid efforts for national integration. Otherwise, our neighbouring countries will not stop hatching conspiracies against us.
