District judiciary issues to be resolved: LHC CJ

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah presided over a high-powered committee meeting here on Friday at the LHC New Library Hall.
Addressing the participants, Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah said the LHC would resolve all matters related to high court and district judiciary with mutual understanding with the provincial government. He said security issue in the high court and district courts was very important.
We want foolproof security for judges, lawyers and litigant public. He said, there is dire need of installation of CCTV cameras in all courts and establishing the control rooms and these steps should be taken as soon as possible. He said infrastructure and furniture condition in district courts was not well. He said judicial officers should be given conducive atmosphere so that they could provide quality justice to the litigants of the province. He said local administration should support and cooperate with district judiciary.
Chief Justice said the aim of all these measures was to provide the ideal judicial system in the province and strengthen the public confidence in the judiciary. Moreover, financial and administrative matters related to LHC and district judiciary were also made part of the agenda.
Chief Justice told the government officials that the LHC was going to celebrate its 150 years and we desire active participation of the provincial government. He said the celebration activities would be started from November 1st and judicial awareness programmes would be organised in all the district courts of the province.
Punjab Chief Secretary Capt (R) Mr Zahid Saeed assured of full cooperation from the government to the LHC. Secretary C & W Khalid Mahmood, Special Secretary Finance Saifullah Dogar, Secretary Prosecution Murtaza Ali, Secretary Law Syed Abul Hassan Najami, Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali, Additional Inspector General Police Arif Nawaz Khan and other officials also attended the meeting.
The LHC Registrar Syed Khurshid Anwar Rizvi, Senior Additional Registrar (Services) Mr. Ata-ur-Rahman, Additional Registrar (Finance) Syed Mustansir Shah and Deputy Registrar Sheikh Nadeem were also present on the occasion.
