RDA conducts operation against illegal constructions

Seals two illegal plazas in the area of Mouza Morgah

On the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi, Azmat Mahmood who is also director general of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), its Enforcement and Building Department staff conducted operation against illegal construction in the area of Defence Road, Mouza Morgah, Rawalpindi.

Official spokesman, Hafiz Mohammad Irfan told that RDA took legal action against illegal or unauthorised plazas in the residential-cum-commercial area of Mouza Morgah.

Following directives of RDA Director General Azmat Mahmud, RDA’s Building Control Wing has been actively conducting continuous operations against illegal or unauthorised commercial and residential construction activities including plazas and shops and other encroachments within the controlled area of RDA in Rawalpindi city.

Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, Building Control's staff with the assistance of Rawalpindi Police from the concerned Police Station carried out an operation against illegal construction in the area of Defence Road, Mouza Morgah and sealed two illegal / unauthorized plazas owned by Raja Arshad and Abdul Khaliq. The operation was carried out by the RDA’s Enforcement Team in the supervision of Building Superintendent Nadeem Jamal.

The RDA DG has directed RDA staff to take strict action against all illegal and unauthorised constructions, commercial activities and encroachments without any fear or favour.

It merits to mention here that the commissioner Rawalpindi, Azmat Mahmood since taking additional charge of director general of RDA has managed successfully to check the practice of illegal constructions of buildings, plazas for which several grand operations have been conducted against illegal occupants of the government lands and encroachers over the last six months.
