No MPA will be allowed to do business: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday said that strict action would be taken against those PTI members of the provincial assembly who would not support the “Conflict of Interest Bill” in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said no MPA will be allowed to do personal business and a bill in this regard will be tabled in the assembly even if the PTI loses the KP government.
In a statement, he said, “I will take action against those PTI MPs who are trying to scuttle the Conflict of Interest Bill.”
Imran said any PTI MPs in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly who will oppose this bill, which is the PTI’s commitment to the nation, will have no place in the party.
“We will sit in the opposition in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly rather than reneging on our core commitment made to the nation and all the PTI MPs should know this,” he said.
“Our MPAs should do their personal business or serve the people. MPAs and businesses cannot go side by side. They will have to choose one between these two options,” Imran said.
He alleged that Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was directly involved in the Nandipur power project corruption. “The inquiry of this scam is being conducted on the model of the Model Town tragedy,” he added. He said the committee constituted to probe the Nandipur scandal was trying to protect the criminals and hush up the scam. He said the PTI will not allow the committee to cover up this scandal. Imran said the PTI will take every step to make the KP free of corruption.
