Examiners awaiting remuneration

Islamabad: The Secondary School Certificate examiners engaged by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education have complained about the prolonged non-payment of remuneration for paper checking.

Some of them told ‘The News’ requesting anonymity that the Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE) had hired their services for marking answer sheets of the students, who sat its SSC exams in March and April this year, but payments for the job had yet to be paid. They said they did the assigned task diligently but were agitated by denial of dues for months.

An examiner insisted he had been checking the FBISE Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations papers for many years and used to get remuneration soon after the results were announced. He however said things were different that time around.

“The SSC examinations results were declared in July and even the SSC supplementary exams are going to take place shortly but ironically, we’ve yet to receive our payments,” he said. The examiners demanded the intervention of Muhammad Balighur Rehman, whose Federal Education and Professional Training ministry oversees the FBISE, to ensure the immediate payments to them.
