Women hockey team trials held

KARACHI: Trials were held for the selection of the national team for the Women Asian Hockey Federation Cup which is to be held in Bangkok from October 1-9 at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.
The selection committee comprising Saleem Sherwani, Saeed Khan, who is also the camp commandant, and Chand Parveen (PHF women wing) watched the girls in action in morning and evening sessions.
The selection committee has handed the names of the 18-member team along with six standbys to Tanzeela Cheema, secretary PHF Women’s Wing.
The team will be announced in a few days after the arrival of PHF president Brig (rtd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar from abroad.
