60 students injured in stampede following earthquake
BATTAGRAM: Around 60 students sustained injuries in a stampede at a school in Allai after an earthquake hit the area.
An earthquake measuring 4.7 at the Richter Scale jolted the Malakand Division and parts of the Hazara Division on Monday.The schoolchildren of the Islamia Model School in Allai panicked after the earthquake struck the area. They started running out of their classrooms and started jumping from the second floor.
Around 60 students sustained injuries. Five of them were stated to be in critical condition.The injured students were taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Allai from where the critically injured were shifted to the Ayub Medical Complex.Most of the students who had jumped from the second floor suffered fractures.
