ISLAMABAD: The Indian deputy high commissioner was summoned to the Foreign Office on Wednesday and a protest was lodged over the latest unprovoked ceasefire violations by India at the LoC.
One Pakistan Army soldier had embraced martyrdom on Tuesday and a civilian
was injured in Rawalakot on Wednesday. The Indian government was urged to stop forthwith the ceasefire violations and observe the 2003 Ceasefire Arrangement for restoration of peace and tranquility at the LoC and the Working Boundary, said a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Pakistan expressed its deep concern over the continuous unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian side at the LoC and targeting of the civilian areas, it said. The Indian diplomat was summoned by the Director General (South Asia and SAARC) who condemned both these incidents.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office offered heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for the departed soul and quick recovery of the injured.
