Lahore: Leading perception about Islamic Banking in the minds of general mass in common and the banking customers in particular into the right direction is one of the basic and key factor that may bring tremendous results if addressed wholeheartedly and with focused approach. To do this, Allied Bank Ltd Islamic Banking Group arranged a Customer Awareness Program on Islamic Banking, this time, in Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) on Thursday 18th August, 2016. The seminar was attended by the Chief Operating Officer ABL Mr. Tahir H Qureshi, Chief Islamic Banking Group ABL Mr. Muhammad Idrees, Chairman Shariah Board ABL and his team along with other senior management. Seminar was attended by President and Vice President SCCI Maj Rtd. Mansoor and Syed Ehtishaam Gilani, representatives from State Bank of Pakistan as well as a large number of exporters and prominent members of local business community. Mr. Tahir Qureshi apprised the participants of the different emerging trends in the Banking Industry of Pakistan and the initiatives that ABL, has taken as market leader in product and infrastructure development. The bank’s Shariah Board (SB), headed by SB Chairman Mufti Ehsan Waqar gave a detailed presentation on the different aspects of Islamic Banking, the misconceptions about Islamic Banking, particularly in reference to its Shariah legitimacy and the development the industry was going through. Maj Mansoor, President of SCCI, later appreciated the initiative of ABL and termed the event very useful in developing their understanding of Islamic Banking Industry, its different aspects and relevance to the everyday life.
