CHARSADDA: The district administration on Tuesday imposed section 144 on the sale and purchase of land vacated by the returning Afghan refugees to protect the land from land grabbers.
A notification issued from the office of deputy commissioner stated that the decision to impose Section 144 was taken after the reports of sale and purchase and alleged grabbing of land of the camps for Afghan refugees by the grabbers.
The notification said that the Revenue Department had requested the administration to impose the ban as sale and purchase of such land could create law and order situation in the district. It said that action would be taken against the violators under relevant laws.
