Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Minority Affairs, Dr Khatu Mal Jeewan, has urged the the provincial chief secretary and police IGP to ensure that the five percent quota for minorities was duly observed during recruitment for all departments, particularly the police force.
In a letter to the provincial authorities, Dr Jeewan urged the duo to make sure that the minorities’ quota was honestly filled, with particular reference to the police’s recruitment process that is currently underway.
He pointed out that the Sindh Assembly had unanimously passed a resolution regarding implementation of five percent job quota for candidates of non-Muslim communities in all departments of the Sindh government.
Dr Jeewan said that the PPP would take all steps to ensure that the legitimate rights of minorities are protected, adding that the special incentives announced by the PPP government must be implemented in letter and spirit.
