Discusses situation with AJK PM
PESHAWAR: Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that Kashmir is the lifeline of Pakistan and people of the country will continue their moral and diplomatic support to their Kashmiri brethren.
The governor said this while speaking to Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, who called him at the Governor’s House here on Saturday, said a handout.
“The prevailing state of movement amongst the people of the Indian-held Kashmir reflects their spirit to achieving the cherished goal of the right to self-determination and the day is not far away when they would be able to achieve this destination,” he said.
The governor deplored the atrocities at the hands of Indian forces against the armless Kashmiris and said that in such a situation, human rights violations in the area were indeed a question mark as far as the responsibilities of the free world are concerned.
The governor said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had constituted a 22-committee as part of the ongoing efforts of the government to highlight the just cause of the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir internationally.
The governor also congratulated Raja Farooq Haider
for becoming the prime minister of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
