Comments sought on teenager’s plea
LAHORE
An Additional District and Sessions judge on Saturday sought comments from the Baghbanpura SHO on a petition filed by a 13-year-old girl seeking a case against a 60-year-old land grabber allegedly involved in forcing her to marry him.
Petitioner Iqra (13) submitted that she belonged to a poor family while accused Shamshair Khan (60) used to force her and her family for marriage with him despite being refused many times. She implored that the accused used to visit their home along with his armed henchmen and forced her family for their marriage. "He gave life threats to my family," she alleged. She submitted the accused was a land grabber and police were not ready to take action against him. She prayed the court to direct the SHO to register an FIR against the accused and his henchmen.
