ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and army chief General Raheel Sharif have decided to raise the serious violations of ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary (WB) by Indian troops at all international forums, including the United Nations.
The two had an important meeting at the PM House on Friday in which they discussed internal security subjects and the Indian belligerence.
The meeting, which lasted for over an hour, was one-on-one in the beginning but was later briefly joined by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Nawaz and Gen Raheel resolved that Pakistan wouldn’t cave in to the Indian pressure tactics and unprovoked firing while discussing reduction of tension on the LoC and the Working Boundary during a meeting between DG Pakistan Rangers and Inspector General of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in New Delhi next week.
Well-placed sources told The News that the Karachi Operation also came under discussion.
The prime minister made it clear that no political expediency would be allowed to hamper the operation and its pace.
He was of view that the operation had been started in the supreme national interest and in the interest of the people of Karachi.
“There is no justification for creating any hurdle in the course of operation since the people of Karachi and Sindh are extremely happy about the achievements of the operation,” the prime minister opined.
