PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday sought reply from the Ministry of Defence and provincial Home and Tribal Affairs Department over recovery of a body of a missing person in Peshawar and whereabouts of another. A two-member bench comprising of Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Irshad Qaisar issued notice to the federal and provincial governments to submit written replies in the two cases before next hearing. During hearing of habeas corpus petition, counsel for the missing persons informed the bench that the police of Daudzai police station had arrested Gul Muhammad and Ali Hasan. He submitted that the police then released them, but the personnel of agencies picked them up as they stepped out of the police station and shifted them to an undisclosed location. Additional Advocate General, Mian Arshad Jan informed the court that as per the report of the SHO Daudzai Police Station there was no entry regarding arrest of these persons in record of the police station. — Correspondent
