Saudi govt to release Zaid Hamid soon, says family

KARACHI: Zaid Hamid imprisoned in Saudi Arabia is said to be hale and hearty and it is hoped he will be released very soon.A message about him circulating on the social media stated that the security agencies and other forces were in direct contact with Zaid Hamid and his family and he was in the process of being released. The message was uploaded at the official Facebook page of Zaid Hamid.Zaid Hamid is currently in prison in Saudi Arabia where he was arrested on the charge of airing critical speeches against the Saudi government. Report on the social media claimed the Saudi government had awarded him imprisonment for 8 years and 1,000 lashes. However, later the report was denied. The family of Zaid Hamid also confirmed that the Saudi government had not yet punished him.
