BANNU: Two soldiers were killed when militants attacked a security forces’ checkpost in Frontier Region (FR), Bannu, early Thursday.
Sources said a group of militants stormed Khadim Hussain check post in FR Bannu in which two soldiers, identified as Amir and Shehzad, were killed.The forces are said to have returned fire but the militants managed to escape.
The bodies of the slain soldiers were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital.Meanwhile, the pro-government armed volunteers killed a commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Orakzai Agency on Thursday.
Sources said the armed members of Qaumi Lashkar raided a militants’ hideout in Bezot area and killed the commander identified as Mushtaq.He was wanted by the law-enforcement agencies and security forces for his involvement in bombings and kidnappings. He was also involved in the killing of 18 persons in a bomb blast in Sepah area last year.
