Lyari ‘gangster’ shot dead

A man, said to be a Lyari gang war criminal, was shot dead in Chakiwara police limits on Friday.
Akhter Baloch, 35, was wounded in a gun attack by two men riding a motorcycle just outside his relative residence situated at Darya Khan Road, while he was sitting outside the residence along with his friends.
After the incident, the area people and his relatives rushed to the spot and took him to the Civil Hospital Karachi in a critical condition; however, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The area police seized spent casings of a 9mm pistol from the spot.
According to the police, the deceased belonged to a Lyari-based gang and he was killed in a targeted incident.
