LAHORE: A delegation from the World Bank visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).PITB Chairman Dr Umar Saif gave a presentation on various projects of the board, including e-Rozgar programme, to the Wold Bank delegation, comprising task team leader Ms Anna C O’Donmell, senior development specialist Ms Jana El-Horr and consultant Shan Rehman. The meeting evaluated and discussed the pilot project for jobs and growth in the digital economy.
According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, Dr Saif said that PITB would be setting up e-Rozgar centres in all 36 districts of Punjab that would provide vast opportunities for respectable and quick employment to the youth.
He said that under this programme, 10,000 graduates, both female and male, would be trained by the PITB this year. A fully equipped computer lab is being established in each district that will remain open round the clock.
