ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while terming the United Kingdom as country’s traditional ally, a close friend and a trusted partner has assured his British counterpart Theresa May Tuesday of his support to work closely with her in achieving close bilateral relations of the two countries in all fields.
According to the Prime Minister House the British Prime Minister made phone call to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the day who extended his warmest congratulations to the British Prime Minister on her historic appointment as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Prime Minister Nawaz said that Theresa May’s appointment reflects the faith and the confidence that the people of the UK have reposed in her ability to steer the country at this historic time. “The government and the people of Pakistan greatly value your long association with Pakistan, the Prime Minister conveyed. The United Kingdom is our traditional ally, a close friend and a trusted partner,” the Prime Minister added.
The Prime Minister assured the British Prime Minister of his support to work closely with her in achieving close bilateral relations in all fields. Theresa May thanked the Prime Minister for his kind words and said that Pakistan is our dependable ally.
Theresa May assured the Prime Minister that both the countries will work together in the post Brexit era and there will be no adverse effects on the bilateral relations after Great Britain exits the EU. Pakistan and the United Kingdom will work together as bilateral partners.
Theresa May said that she is eagerly waiting for her upcoming visit to Pakistan in coming months in the capacity of the British Prime Minister.
