BoG proposes measures to improve service delivery of MMC

Evening OPD being launched

PESHAWAR: The Board of Governors (BoG) of Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) has proposed measures to improve service delivery at the hospital, including initiation of evening out patients department (OPD).

The decisions to improve both operational and uplift matters of the hospital were taken at the BoG meeting chaired by its chairman Dr Fazal Hadi.

It was decided that the evening OPD would be started this week to resolve the problems of the patients seeking medical assistance in the evening.

BoG members Dr Humayun Mohmand, Dr Shahid Khattak, Dr Tahir Khan and Naeem Khan, directors and officials attended the meeting.

The BoG instructed the medical superintendent (MS) to immediately hire a credible security firm before the students of the Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC) resume academic activities after summer holidays.

Similarly, the BoG directed the administration to strictly implement the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for referring patients to other hospitals and none of the patients would be referred without approval of the head of the unit.

The meeting decided to notify “employee of the month” on the basis of outstanding performance and the name would be placed on the notice board.

The board also formed various committees to manage the affairs of the hospital that include institutional management committee, executive committee, procurement committee, disciplinary committee and finance committee.

Dr Humayun Mohmand, a member of the MMC BoG, while talking to The News said that the Health Management Information System (HMIS) would also be launched at the hospital to improve its capacity and service delivery.

He said construction of mosque, boundary wall, and tree plantation in both the MMC and BKMC and upgrading of labour room and obstetrics department would also be initiated shortly.

The doctor said establishment of a state-of-the-art burn centre for which a team would be sent to PIMS Islamabad to study the burns centre before submitting PC-I to the provincial government.  Dr Humayun added that soon a pharmacy, owned and run by the hospital, would be set up.
