Rs8m per night for a room in world’s most expensive hotel
NEW YORK CITY: The incredible penthouse suite at The Mark Hotel, set in bustling New York City, is worth every penny.
This is the world’s most expensive hotel suite, boasting two wet bars, a rooftop terrace and even its own library room. At a cost of $75,000 (£57,000) (Rs. 8,037,000) per night, the room comes in as the world’s joint most expensive hotel suite, according to lifestyle magazine Elite Traveller.
The hotel room is tied in first place for the accolade, with the Royal Penthouse suite at the President Wilson Geneva in Switzerland sharing the top spot. But it’s this New York suite, boasting views over the Upper East Side of Manhattan, which really steals the show.
With the lavish 12,000 square foot room spread over two floors of the classy hotel, the five bedroom suite boasts a stunning roof terrace and two wet bars for lucky guests to drink at. The lobby alone is far bigger than your average hotel room, with a 26 foot ceiling helping to make the reception area even more spacious and desirable.
Meanwhile, the penthouse suite also boasts a conservatory and a library lounge, with guests given the choice between five plush bedrooms to sleep in after a long day in the Big Apple. And there is even more choice when it comes to using the loo, since the suite boasts six bathrooms, complete with spacious baths and views out over the streets below.
When it comes to dinner time, loaded guests can entertain up to 24 people at the huge table, before taking the party outside and on to the roof terrace. The private terrace offers 2,500 square feet of luxury space, boasting views out over the iconic Manhattan skyline and Central Park. It’s fair to say that this puts the average Travellodge to shame, although with a price tag approaching £60,000 (Rs. 8,460,000) per night, you’d expect nothing less.
