The Kashmir boomerang
By our correspondents
July 26, 2016
This refers to the editorial, ‘The Kashmir vote’ (July 23). It has been very aptly suggested that the political parties should have fought on local issues rather than campaigning through personal attacks. The defeats of former prime minister Sultan Mehmood, as well as of the daughter of AJK President Sardar Yaqoob also show that people did not take into any account the influence or clout of a contestant.
One hopes that the leaders of defeated parties will have learned that negative propaganda and personal attacks serve as a boomerang.
