TIMERGARA: Two children drowned in Panjkora river at Rani point in Lower Dir on Monday, local sources and eyewitnesses said.They said that Ma’az, 7, and Habib, 8, had gone to the river along with their family members. The gushing water swept them away while they were bathing in the river.
Soon after the incident, a large number of people rushed to the spot and started rescue operation on their own. The locals fished out the bodies after hectic efforts for hours. Moving scenes were witnessed when the bodies of two children reached their homes. Talking to The News, Mujib Khan, a local resident, expressed anger over the apathy of the district administration officials. He alleged that they sought help from the district administration, but in vain.
