Soyem of late Meraj Muhammad Khan held

A number of renowned politicians paid homage to the veteran politician Meraj Muhammad Khan on his Soyem, held at his residence on Sunday.

A people’s man, the event was also attended by people from various other walks of life.

Among those who attended were politician Sardar Sherbaz Khan Mazari, Federal Minister Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders Prof ND Khan, Senator Taj Haider, Javed Nagori, Rashid Rabbani and Asadullah Bhutto, Yosuf Masti Khan of the Awami Workers’ Party (AWP), progressive journalist Tauseef Ahmed Khan and Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui.

Speaking on the occasion Bizenjo lauded the principled politician’s contributions in the realms of politics. He said the deceased always practiced clean politics and was held in high esteem by all his fellow colleagues.

PPP leader Prof ND Khan said Meraj’s politics was all about principles and was aimed at empowering the people.

JI’s Dr Siddiqui said the late Meraj Muhammad Khan’s entire struggle was for the rights of the underprivileged classes, and to uplift their standard of living.
