Elections in AJK

The PML-N has secured a landslide victory in Azad Kashmir. The PTI was expecting to get the seat of Mirpur city where it had a strong candidate, Barrister Sultan who had served AJK as prime minister. He was, however, defeated by Muhammad Saeed. Another amazing victory of the PML-N was in district Bagh where journalist-turned-politician Mushtaq Minhas won against Sardar Qamar-u-Zaman.

These victories have proved that the PML-N has very strong roots in Kashmir. The good thing was that this election was conducted mostly peacefully. It is hoped now that these elected representatives will work for the people of the area.
