LAHORE: Central PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz, MNA, has said the elimination of terrorism is the top priority of the national leadership. He said terrorism had been controlled to a large extent and the whole nation was standing shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in the defence of the country. He said that on Eid-ul-Fitr we shared the grief with the mothers who lost their children due to terrorism.
According to a press release issued on Monday, Hamza Shahbaz, talking to the media on the occasion of distribution of gifts to under-treatment children at the Children Hospital on Eid day, said Pakistan wanted to have the negotiation with India and other neighbouring countries at equal level but no one should have any misunderstanding that Pakistan had 20 crore respectable citizens and it was also a nuclear power who would not compromise on the national interest.
Hamza Shahbaz said that investment of 40 billion dollars in Pakistan would usher in a new era of development in the country and Pakistan would become an economic power in the future. He made it clear that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had taken the political parties into confidence, especially of KPK and Balochistan, and paved the way for political understanding the on economic corridor and this historic project would not become a victim of politics like Kalabagh Dam. He said had Kala Bagh Dam been built, about 6000 megawatt cheaper electricity would have become available. In reply to a question, Hamza Shahbaz said the present government was determined to restore peace in the country.
