KARACHI: The federal government has approved Rs50 million grant for Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for sending national senior and junior teams to participate in several international events and preparatory camps, ‘The News’ learnt on Thursday.
Pakistan are to participate in various international events in August and September.
Pakistan are to participate in the Junior Hockey World Cup in December in India.
The senior men and women teams are to appear in Asian Champions Trophy in Doha and national under-18 team has to participate in Youth Asia Cup in Bangladesh.
For the preparation of these events, weeks-long training camps will be organised.
The PHF confirmed that federal government had approved Rs50 million.
A high official of PHF said there would be no hurdle in preparing the national junior team’s preparation for Junior World Cup, national Under-18 team’s participation in Youth Asia Cup in Bangladesh, and men and women seniors’ participation in Asian Champions Trophy in Qatar.
