Unity stressed to make country economic power
SWABI: Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar on Thursday stressed the need for a collective effort to make Pakistan a strong economic power.
“We all must put our heads together to make Pakistan an economically vibrant and politically prosperous country,” she said while addressing the Digital Pakistan Speed Programming Competition at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology as a chief guest.
The competition continued for the last few months in the country and the final was held at GIK Institute.
The competition was also attended by Prof Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Rector GIK Institute, pro-rectors, directors, academicians, students of different disciplines and competitors.
The minister lauded the talent of the students and said that her ministry encouraged such competitions among students to provide an opportunity to them to display their capability and excel in different fields.
“The economic reforms initiated by the government resulted in boosting the country’s feeble economic position. And the credit goes to the federal government for taking Pakistan from a dangerous zone to an economic comfort zone,” she added.
She said that the government was working on further revolutionising contemporary education which is expected to culminate in boosting all sectors to contribute to the country’s economy and stability of our society.
Prof Ahmad Khalid said that GIK Institute focused on modern technology, including the new emerging technologies, and they also concentrate on co-curricular activities and there over 30 registered student societies in the Institute who arrange different programmes round the year.
