LAHORE: The Punjab government Monday approved 10 development schemes of various sectors at an estimated cost of Rs108.55 billion.
These schemes were approved in the second meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Irfan Elahi. Members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretary concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
According to spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included: hiring of consultant firm for survey/estimation for reconstruction of dangerous buildings of schools in Punjab (PC-II) at a cost of Rs31.584 million, Punjab Non-Formal Education Project at the cost of Rs5.7 billion, pre-feasibility for new city & industrial development along Motorway (M-2) Corridor (PC-II) at a cost of Rs164.350 million, construction of Multan metro project, bus depot & command and control centre (package-9) at a cost of Rs2.152 billion, feasibility study for Dadhocha Dam (PC-II) at a cost of Rs55.139 million, construction of Express Way from Shujabad to Nag Shah, District Multan at a cost of Rs1.270 billion, widening/improvement/construction of road from 18-Hazari Fatehpur in District Jhang at a cost of Rs1.014 billion, construction of road from Seela Sayydan to Kotli Satian via Bheer Gala, Tehsil Kotli Sattian District Rawalpindi (revised) at a cost of Rs265.518 million, widening/improvement of existing road from Kahuta to Lehtrar Link Road via Sang, Tehsil Kahuta, District Rawalpindi (revised) at a cost of Rs259.364 million and viability/screening of roads under Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Road Programme (KPRRP) (Phase-II) (PC-II) at a cost of Rs22.968 million.
