RAWALPINDI. The Special Customs Court (SCC), Rawalpindi, will indict supermodel Ayyan Ali in the money laundering-cum- smuggling case on July 13, 2015. RAWALPINDI. The Special Customs Court (SCC), Rawalpindi, will indict supermodel Ayyan Ali in the money laundering-cum- smuggling case on July 13, 2015.
Upon completion of her judicial remand, Ayyan was presented before the Customs Court of Judge Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan. The court extended her judicial remand till July 13 on Monday.Customs officials were supposed to present a chargesheet against Ayyan Ali in the currency smuggling case before the Customs Court, Rawalpindi. However, the court did not fix charges against the accused and sought further records from the investigators.
Judge Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan also ordered the Customs officials to provide the relevant documents to Ayyan’s counsel.Supermodel Ayyan Ali requested the court to play a positive role to stop the media propaganda against her.
Ayyan Ali has spoken first time ever in the court to defend herself and said that she felt great embarrassment after what had been said against her in the media.Ayyan Ali further stated that her basic rights were being violated as the case was prolonged unnecessarily. She said that she had a bright future ahead, so the court should accept her bail request.
Moreover, Ayyan Ali begged pardon from the court and said that she was not aware of the rule about the transfer of money.Ayyan’s medical report, which has been drafted by District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), Rawalpindi senior gynecologist, was also submitted with the court. The report states the suspect is in good health, sources have claimed.
On June 29, Ayyan’s bail plea was rejected by the Lahore High Court. Earlier that day, the Rawalpindi Customs Court extended her judicial remand till July 6 and directed the lawyer of Ayyan Ali to attend the next hearing.The model has been sent on judicial remand for at least 13 times since she was first detained at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA), Islamabad.
