Poor schools
According to a media report, the students of public-sector schools in the Mardan district could not get enough positions in the top 20 in the SSC examinations 2016 conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mardan, despite government claims about bringing change in the government-run schools in the province. Mardan is the hometown of the provincial minister for education and, therefore, this should be a matter of great concern for him. Most parents are not satisfied with the performance of state-run schools.
Only one student from a government school could make it to the list of the top 20 students in the SSC examinations of 2016 in Mardan. In view of the above there is a strong need to revisit the educational policy of the provincial government, especially in respect of state-run schools.
