Govt taking measures to resolve energy problem: Asif

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Thursday said that the government was taking concrete measures to resolve the energy problem.
“Sufficient energy would be available in 2018 as many projects are in progress to meet the demand of the country,” he stated while talking to a private news channel.He said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and other political parties running the provincial government of Sindh were responsible for the bad governance in Karachi.
The minister said that the political parties, including the MQM, should accept the responsibility and take steps for ensuring good governance in Karachi. “There are some elements working against the country,” he said. “India has been involved in halting the efforts of Pakistan being taken for eliminating the menace of terrorism.”
To a question, he said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had levelled false allegations against the electoral process, adding that rigging was found in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local bodies elections. Khawaja Asif said the PTI assembly’s members were getting salaries from the national exchequer, adding that the party were not accepting the working of National Assembly.
