Double murder
Accused constable yet to be arrested

c: Police are accused of not arresting a constable, who is involved in the murder of a couple.
Muhammad Asghar told police that his family members filed pleas with the Multan CPO against wrong cases registered against them and accused Constable Irshad Gujjar used his influence against them.
Asghar’s sisters Shazia and Nadia were married to Ghiasuddin and Muhammad Sajjad and he invited his both sisters to his house on the second day of Eid where constable Irshad, his brothers Inayat Gujjar and their accomplices attacked and allegedly shot dead Ghiasuddin, his wife Nadia and injured critically Sajjad and his wife Shazia.
According to police sources, Constable Irshad and his family members were running an old enmity with the family of Asghar.
According to police sources, Budhla Sant SHO Khalid Riaz was allegedly protecting the killers. A spokesman for city police Muhammad Faizan said CPO Azhar Ikram had constituted a special team headed by SP CIA and SP Sadr to ensure the arrest of the constable and his accomplices.
When contacted, SHO Khalid Riaz confirmed that police made no arrest in the case so far. About causes behind the murder, he said the police were unable to establish cause of double murder.
