Govt slashes LPG prices by Rs17.73 per kg
ISLAMABAD: Consumers will get some relief in August as the federal government on Thursday announced a sharp Rs17.73 per kilogram cut in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, a 7.6 per cent drop, following a steep decline in the Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP).
The price cut brings LPG down to Rs215.37 per kilogram from Rs233.10, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) said in a notification. The new rates take effect Friday, August 1, 2025.
A domestic cylinder weighing 11.8 kilograms will now cost Rs2,541.36, down by Rs209.24 from the previous Rs2,750.60. Commercial users will also see savings, with the 45.4 kg cylinder dropping Rs804.94 to Rs9,777.80.
OGRA attributed the reduction to a 9.8pc fall in the Saudi Aramco CP, which sets LPG producer prices, partially offset by a 0.38pc rise in the rupee-dollar exchange rate.
