Lord Sarfraz appointed as 4th Chancellor of the University of East London

LONDON: The University of East London (UEL) has announced the appointment of British-Pakistani Aamer Ahmad Sarfraz, The Lord Sarfraz of Kensington, as its new Chancellor, effective 1 August 2025.
Lord Sarfraz, a respected House of Lords member and leader in business, public service and philanthropy, is appointed as Chancellor of UEL. He’ll champion the university’s students, mission, and strategic vision, supporting Vision 2028, which aims to make UEL the UK’s leading careers-first university, focusing on inclusion, sustainability and innovation. Lord Sarfraz, nominated to the House of Lords in 2019 and made Baron Sarfraz of Kensington in 2020, is one of the youngest peers in Parliament.
