ISLAMABAD: The fuel prices are likely to drop for the fortnight starting from August 1.

The next fortnight will see the price of petrol drop by Rs9.07 and that of diesel by Rs3.73 per litre due to fluctuation in international oil prices from July 16, 2025. More importantly, the value of US dollar versus Pak Rupee will also be adjusted and this may further impact the POL prices.

According to industrial sources, the new price of Motor Spirit may be adjusted at Rs263.08 per liter against the existing Rs272.15 per liter and the new price of high speed diesel (HSD) may be adjusted at Rs280.62 per liter from the existing Rs282.35 per liter. However, the price of kerosene oil may rise by Rs3.55 to Rs184.88 per litre from Rs181.33 per litre and the price of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) would increase by Rs2.33 per litre to Rs170.09 from Rs167.76 per litre.

In mid-July 2025, major crude oil price benchmarks fell slightly as demand and tariff impacts on the global economy remained uncertain, but the prices increased slightly two days ago. The premium on petrol is at $6.76 per barrel and on HSD at $3.20 per barrel.
