SC case files stolen from courier vehicle
ISLAMABAD: A courier service vehicle was robbed and important documents pertaining to a case pending before the Supreme Court at its principal seat in Islamabad have been stolen.
Civil petition filed by Resource Group International Limited versus Muhammad Ziaullah Khan Chishti and others was pending before the two-member bench comprising Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan and Justice Aamer Farooq.
The bench had, earlier, conducted preliminary hearing on June 25, and had issued notices to the respondents.
On Wednesday, Rahila Memon, Court Associate, Supreme Court Branch Registry Karachi, through an official memo informed the petitioner -- Resource Group International Limited -- that while transferring its case files to the principal seat, the courier service vehicle was robbed and the files had been stolen.
“You are therefore, requested to file the fresh cases along with three paper books in each case immediately, to avoid the inconvenience to the court,” the official memo informed the advocate-on-record for the petitioner.
