‘Get a PMT’
This letter refers to the news report ‘Nepra issues show-cause to KE over loadshedding violations’ (June 25, 2025). K-Electric has been supplying electricity to our apartment for a long time. Due to unpaid bills in a colony behind our apartment, KE conducts unannounced loadshedding for both locations since they share the same PMTs. The company is now forcing our apartment building to install its own PMT and pay the relevant amount or face long hours of loadshedding.
It is unfair of KE to force residents to buy a PMT instead of taking action against those actually responsible for power theft and unpaid bills. Instead of fining KE, Nepra should make them comply with the rules and make sure consumers are not bothered with unfair demands when they have cleared their dues.
