A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a speeding water tanker near Vita Chowrangi in the Korangi area on Sunday.

According to police, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Korangi Industrial Area police station, where a high-speed water tanker collided with a motorcycle, killing the rider on the spot. The body was transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities.

At the hospital, the deceased was identified as 51-year-old Hashim, son of Akhtar Ali, a resident of the Korangi. Police officials said the tanker driver fled the scene after the incident. However, the vehicle had been impounded, and a search was underway to apprehend the driver. After completion of medico-legal procedures, the body was handed over to the victim’s family. Further investigation is ongoing.

Last Friday, 15 people were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a water tanker near the Police Training Centre in Razzaqabad, Landhi, along the National Highway. The incident occurred when a water tanker, attempting to overtake the bus, began honking and pushing from behind.
