Muharram arrangements reviewed
Rawalpindi:Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Amir Khattak, has assured that security arrangements will be ensured in collaboration with peace committees, district administration, and security agencies to maintain peace and order during Muharram-ul-Haram. He made this statement while addressing the Ittehad-e-Muslimeen Conference in Rawalpindi.
The conference, attended by prominent scholars and officials, aimed to promote peace, unity, and interfaith harmony during Muharram. Maulana Mufti Ramzan Sialvi emphasized the importance of unity and consensus, praising Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s efforts in this regard.
Commissioner Khattak assured that strict security arrangements would be made on the routes of processions, and social media would be monitored to prevent the spread of hatred. RPO Rawalpindi, Babar Sarfraz Alpa, stated that police teams are ready to ensure security, and thorough screening and sweeping of routes and places would be conducted before sensitive processions.The conference concluded with a resolution to cooperate with the administration to promote interfaith respect and eliminate sectarianism.
