There is a glaring lack of moral education in our schools. In the race to secure high grades and produce ‘toppers’, our schools seem to have sidelined the teaching of values, empathy and civic responsibility. Schools are meant to be character-building institutions, not just exam-taking factories.
Where are the discussions on honesty, compassion, accountability or environmental responsibility? If we want a future with ethical leaders, responsible citizens and a more humane society, we must integrate moral education into the system.
