Reducing the sales tax on imported solar panels from 18 per cent to 10 per cent is a welcome step. However, I believe even a 10 per cent tax is too high for a country like Pakistan, which is heavily reliant on solar imports and is expected to face significant price increases due to this policy. To ensure renewable energy is truly accessible, the government should consider eliminating this tax altogether.
