PPP’s response to budget vote boycott just a call away: Omar Ayub
Trillions of rupees have been imposed on people in direct and indirect taxes, says Omar Ayub
ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan Wednesday alleged that the Pakistan Peoples Party’s response to the PTI’s proposal for boycotting voting on the budget was just a phone call away. He said this while talking to the media along with other party leaders outside the Parliament House. “If they are serious, let them fight together with the PTI,” he remarked.
He claimed that the very beginning of the budget was wrong, whereas so many mistakes had been made regarding finance. He contended that the budget would bring more inflation in Pakistan.
“When I asked the FBR chairman about the issue of billions of rupees, he admitted his mistake.”
Trillions of rupees have been imposed on the people in direct and indirect taxes, he said.
Omar Ayub expressed concern that Pakistan only had ten to twelve days of oil but the government was not conscious of this. “The government is a product Form 47,” alleged the National Assembly former speaker Asad Qaiser.
Speaking on the occasion, PTI parliamentary leader in the Senate Barrister Syed Ali Zafar noted that it now a matter of concern that the chairman’s orders were not being implemented.
Meanwhile, PTI information secretary Sh. Waqas Akram has called on the government to take a proactive and decisive stance, rather than limiting itself to issuing statements, in order to mount an effective diplomatic pressure on the rogue Israeli state to halt its war crimes, as it was rapidly emerging as a grave threat to the global peace.
Speaking at a news conference, he strongly condemned the unchecked aggression of the Israeli state, describing it as a major threat to regional peace and stability.
