Pakistani nationals, Zaireen return home from Iraq, Iran
MOFA continues to monitor situation to facilitating safe and orderly return of all Pakistani Zaireen
ISLAMABAD/QUETTA: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in close coordination with the Iraqi Airways, Monday successfully facilitated the repatriation of 268 Pakistani nationals by two special flights from Basra to Karachi and Islamabad. Both flights have safely reached Pakistan.
The ministry remains actively engaged with the Iraqi Airways and all other relevant authorities to ensure safe and timely return of the remaining Zaireen, says a press release.
The Zaireen have been advised to remain in close contact with their embassy in Baghdad, designated mandoobs, and their respective airlines for timely updates on their travel arrangements.
The Iraqi Airways is presently operating daily flights on Basra–Dubai route. On Monday, some Pakistani nationals availed themselves of this option.
Those interested in travelling via this route are encouraged to contact the nearest Iraqi Airways office for booking and assistance. The Zaireen have also been advised to get ready for repatriation on short notice.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor the situation closely and remains fully committed to facilitating the safe and orderly return of all Pakistani Zaireen.
In a related development, a large number of Pakistani students and pilgrims in Iran continue to return home. On Monday, eight coaches carrying 74 students and 545 pilgrims entered Pakistan through the Pakistan-Iran FIA Immigration Gate.
Following registration and health screening, all individuals were shifted to the Pakistan House. The district administration has assured that all returning Pakistani citizens from Iran will be provided with respectful, safe, and well-organized services to ensure they can proceed to their homes without any difficulty or distress.
