LAHORE : Lahore police conducted a consultative meeting with organisers and licence holders of religious processions and gatherings at Police Lines on Saturday to ensure peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram.
DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran briefed the organisers and licence holders about security arrangements and details related to procession routes during the meeting. The participants were instructed to incorporate their suggestions into the comprehensive security plan.
"Timely and safe completion of all processions and gatherings will be ensured," said DIG Operations, emphasising the police's commitment to maintaining order during the holy month.
Faisal Kamran noted that organisers and licence holders are being provided full cooperation as always." He stressed that compliance with permit conditions is mandatory under all circumstances.
The DIG Operations directed all organisers to strictly adhere to prescribed timings, stating that "no deviation from scheduled times will be permitted under any circumstances." All gatherings and processions must be conducted within designated boundaries.
"All organizers must ensure compliance with the code of conduct and security guidelines," the DIG Operations emphasized, adding that there is no room for deviation from the security plan.
Religious harmony requirements will be prioritized at all costs, the police official said, highlighting the importance of maintaining interfaith peace during the religious observances.
