LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab Dr Usman Anwar reviewed Muharram security arrangements and other professional matters at the Central Police Office on Friday.
Additional IGs and DIGs also attended the meeting. Additional IG South Punjab, CCPO Lahore, RPOs, CPOs and DPOs attended the meeting through video link. The Inspector General of Police lauded security arrangements of police during Eid days and directed foolproof security during Muharram.
He asked police officers to resolve all disputes regarding Muharram in advance through mutual understanding. He congratulated the CCD for the arrest of more than 100 category-A criminals in the Multan region.
The Inspector General of Police directed the district officers to task the CCD to arrest the declared criminals involved in heinous crimes. He ordered to further expedite intelligence-based operations against Kacha criminals. The IGP urged the completion of 100 targets given by Chief Minister of Punjab for improving the traffic should be further accelerated.
DIG Riot Management Police visits Police Training School
DIG Riot Management Police Asad Sarfraz Khan Friday visited the Police Training School Farooqabad and reviewed the training and other matters of the force. The training of the first batch of 3,000 personnel of the Riot Management Police is being completed at the school.
Principal of the Police Training School Tanveer Ahmad briefed the DIG on different issues and said 5,000 personnel will be included in the Right Management Police, out of which 3,000 are being trained in the first batch. Punjab Police spokesperson said the DIG encouraged the cops who were training hard in the scorching heat and inquired about the problems they were facing.
