LAHORE:Punjab Police busted eight criminal gangs and arrested 17 members involved in theft and robbery across district during Eid holidays.
Police recovered 13 motorcycles, livestock, and a cache of weapons and ammunition. A police spokesperson said 71 proclaimed offenders, 12 judicial fugitives, and two habitual criminals were also arrested. In a separate crackdown, police raided 136 drug dens, arresting 73 suspects and seizing drugs. Additionally, 12 suspects involved in electricity theft were arrested and cases were registered.
Four injured in road accident
A traffic accident near the Sundar Raiwind Road congregation area left four individuals injured on Saturday, Rescue 1122 reported. The collision involved a motorcycle and a van. Emergency teams from Rescue 1122 rushed to the scene promptly after the accident was reported. Rescue personnel provided on-site first aid to the injured before shifting them to THQ Hospital Raiwind for medical treatment. The injured individuals are reported to be in stable condition. Traffic remained disrupted for a brief period.
110 drug dealers arrested
Punjab Police conducted 223 raids on drug dens across the province during the Eid holidays, arresting 110 drug dealers. The operations led to the recovery of 23kg charas, 4kg ice, 1kg heroin, and 2,950 litre liquor.
