According to initial reports, attack is believed to be linked to a personal vendetta stemming from a marriage dispute
LAHORE: In a case of suspected honour killing, a man and his son were shot dead on Friday within the jurisdiction of Satukatla Police Station.
The victims were identified as Saeed and his 22-year-old son Shamshad. According to initial reports, the attack is believed to be linked to a personal vendetta stemming from a marriage dispute. Two months ago, Ahsan, another son of Saeed, eloped with a girl and contracted a love marriage, allegedly against the wishes of the girl’s family. The marriage reportedly caused resentment, with the girl’s relatives harbouring a grudge against Ahsan and his family. On the day of the incident, four armed men stormed Ahsan’s residence near Satukatla Pul, Wapda Town and opened fire. Saeed and Shamshad sustained critical wounds. The assailants fled the scene. Both victims were rushed to hospital but were pronounced dead upon arrival.
